Roll Call Oct 3 2007

For all the stories that you need to read, but I haven’t had time to write up.

Naomi Wolf’s Fascist America, In 10 Easy Steps is a compelling read. Unfortunately those who most need to understand it are those least willing to read it. How long will the ‘Christian’ Neo’Con’ base take to see that the Bush Administration, and the wolfpack that surrounds it, is not Christian, and is not Conservative. NeoCon is, in fact, a new deceit of the oldest type.

Noam Chomsky believes that A Revolution is Just Below the Surface. I don’t always agree with Noam, but he’s an exceptionally intelligent man and nothing if not articulate and well reasoned.

In another demonstration that most regulation serves to undermine competition and preclude new businesses, CEPA is trying to shut down a local computer recycler who rebuilds the machines, installs Linux, and donates them to local schools.

Ethanol was always a bad idea, and now the market for it may be tanking. Good riddance! As if being heavier while carrying less available energy wasn’t bad enough, it also drove up food prices by increasing competition for corn. Solar, people. All forms of energy on earth except radioactive originate with solar energy. Solar energy capture should be our #1 goal for sustainable energy.
